PERMANENTLY CLOSED

The Mary Celeste Whiskey and Wine Library is Closing.

It's with great sadness that I have to announce that we are closing The Mary Celeste Whiskey and Wine Library permanently effective today, Monday 8/29/2022.

This is difficult because we know that we have an amazing staff and great customers who have always shown their support for us over the last couple of years. We have built a restaurant from the ground up and have earned great reviews and awards on service, ambiance and our food too. We also took pride in knowing that we have raised thousands of dollars for local organizations. The community has and will always be dear to our hearts and we thank you for it.

Unfortunately, the pandemic has taken its toll. The day we opened we learned that the capacity for restaurants would be reduced to 25%. Over the next 21 months, we have watched food prices increase and have had to work through staffing shortages often requiring us to close our doors. We also applied for many of the programs that other restaurants received but weren't lucky enough to receive assistance before funds ran out. We were never comfortable with the idea of handouts but were hopeful none the less. We then took on Harriet's focusing on the prepared foods but unfortunately, there just weren't enough customers to keep it open, even in the heart of summer.

As we work through the process of closing, we will announce a page for customers to request a refund on unused gift cards. We are also reaching out to local restaurants to try and restaff our employees. They are the best around so we will do everything we can to find them a new home. We will also do our best to ensure our whiskey barrel tables, our lounge seating, kitchen equipment, and on will find a good home too. We will also help our landlords find new tenants as best as we can and commit to holding our head up high and doing the right thing during this process.

This is not easy though so we ask for your patience, understanding and prayers for everyone affected by this closure.

Thank you for your support and please feel free to reach out to me directly with any questions. My contact info is below.
